Nominations are officially OPEN! (after four added days of hair pulling and cursing in luxan)

We apologize for the tardiness of the ballots opening, but a certain someone (Kaz) tried to do some things on her own without asking for help from those that are more knowledgeable in PHP and databases.

We've decided to push all dates back four days so that it doesn't cut into nominating time. So double check the dates if you've written them down.

With that please give scorpy808 and halcyon_shift a big honkin’ round of applause and add to their shrines of awesomeness for the much appreciated assistance with the new database and the scripting for the nomination/voting.

We’re considering giving them our first born children.

Now here’s some information that you’ll need for certain categories NOT listed on the nomination ballots. With these particular categories, you will have to email your nominations to them or visit their sites and check out their method of accepting nominations. Same rules apply otherwise.

The proper format, just for ease of quick reference and less confusion:

Hey, is there a list of sponsored categories and contact info on the website somewhere? I was just looking to nominate something for "best characterization - John" and surfed all around there in vain before ending up back here and finding the SACC address for it. I think it'd be really handy for folks visiting the website looking to nominate if this info was up there somewhere obvious. (It also might generate a few more noms in the sponsored categories... I've only gotten three so far in the ampersand.)

Just a thought...

The SACC has a page dedicated to the nominations, along with their contact info. They'd asked me to link people to their home page instead of the email address since they'd added the notation in their news section toward the bottom.

But here's the page link itself:

http://www.scaper.com/sacc/aurora.html

But all contact info for the most part is on the category page of our website.

Ah, "categories" was, for some reason, the one section it didn't occur to me to click on! I kept looking for something in the rules or the FAQ, or thinking there ought to be a note on the page with the nominations form... Well, uh, good, I'm glad it's actually there. :)

And, yeah, finding the noms page for SACC was easy, once, I actually came here and found the link to their main page.

Erm, also your link for BetanSurvey is wrong. I assume that's supposed to be her e-mail addy -- at least, I hope it is, because I've just used it -- but you've got it in the form of a URL.

And, while I'm making complaints and suggestions and things, I'll ask a question, too... It is considered legit to make a nomination myself in the category I'm running, yes?

I fixed her addy. Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, my only excuse is the flu whopping my butt here.

As for nominating yourself for the category your running. I don't see a problem with it if you're going to have a few people help you in the final decision of fics to go to the second round.

Aww, hope the flu is doing less butt-kicking soon!

And I might or might not to that. It was just a thought I figured I ought to ask about...

good morning.

i have another SAQ.

What is the difference between the deja vu award and the hidden memory award? can individuals nominate in these categories? if so, how? they have no sponsor and there is no way of nominating in them on the website.

also, can lifetime achievement be nommed by individuals? is so, again how? *see above* and is this a different category than the lifetime fic award.

sorry to be so dense.

thanks
